The Basis for this research originally stemmed from my passion for understanding the implications of skyscraper development on a country's economic condition as well as understanding the human response to this sudden change in their living and working environment.

Gentrification as a process is highly dividing and its effects are far reaching. One of the most important effects of gentrification is on the quality of life of the people living in the region. With this research, by studying the growth and gentrification patterns of the urban villages of Delhi and by interacting with the locals, we aim to understand the effects of gentrification on the lives of the people living in the area.
